 海雾是指对海上船舶航行、捕捞、港口作业以及沿海地区的公路运输和电力输送等社会生活的方方面面产生重要影响的天气现象。有研究指出,由于雾所造成的社会经济和人力资源的损失甚至与台风和龙卷风造成的损失相当。因此对近30a来我国海雾研究领域的重要进展进行了回顾,并对海雾的微物理学特征、海雾与层云的关系、北太平洋与大西洋上海雾发生频率的气候学特征、海雾的数值模拟、海雾的数据同化和集合预报等重要问题进行了讨论。

Abstract:

 Sea fog is one kind of severe weather phenomenon that exerts important influence on many aspects of social life, such as marine transportation, fishing, port operations, as well as the high-way transportation and the electric power transportation in coastal areas. Previous researches indicated that the financial and human losses related to fogs and low visibility became comparable to the losses resulted from other weather events, e.g., tornadoes or even hurricanes, in some situations. In this paper, some important progresses were reviewed on the sea fog study in China in recent 30 years. Also the authors paid much attention to discuss the following important issues on sea fog researches, i.e., the microphysics of sea fog, the relationship between sea fog and stratus, the sea fog occurrence frequency over the Northern Pacific and Northern Atlantic, the numerical simulation of sea fog, the data assimilation and ensemble forecasting of sea fog. This paper may provide useful information for those who want to know the latest progress of sea fog study in China.
